Då viste GPSen at me hadde padla 80 km.

How long can we paddle in a day?
-I wondered, especially since our SG2010 team are going to cross over from Skagen in Denmark to Portør in Norway in July this year. A distance of 180 kilometers. My longest day-trip up until now was 44 kilometers, so I just had to find this out! Arne and I left from Leikanger early Thursday morning and 15 hours later we were at the end of Sognefjorden at the place called Skjolden. Our GPS told us we had covered 80 km of ground/fjord. We had 3 landings, our average speed while paddling was 6 km/h, making the average speed including breaks 5 km/h. It was a fantastic trip with eagles and porpoises around us. Sognefjorden is beautiful turquoise during the day, the weather varied between rainy, sunny and windy (some from behind adn some from ahead). -Typical weather of the west coast. I was tired and "done" when we pulled the kayaks on to the beach at the end of the day... So, the trip from Denmark... oh yes, it's going to be a challenge. _something to look forward to, a real challenge! We'll most propably find out how long it is possible to paddle in one go.
